The International Centre for Medical Glass and Engineering (IMAGE) has been established to strengthen India's capabilities in precision medical glass engineering and support indigenous manufacturing of critical glass components used in medical imaging systems. IMAGE focuses on the development and fabrication of glass envelopes for X-ray and CT tube applications, reducing dependence on imports and promoting self-reliance in healthcare technology manufacturing This facility is established with financial support from the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Government of India.
